Portable Board Games: A PlayBook'd Buying Guide
Compare BoxyLoot's physical PlayBook'd board games by play style, storage and listed size. Choose a book-style game for travel, a shared table or a gift.
Which PlayBook'd game should I choose?
Start with the kind of play you enjoy. Reversi and Mancala focus on two-player strategy. Sling Puck is a head-to-head dexterity game. Shut the Box offers a dice-and-number challenge for solo play or friendly competition. Chess suits players who want a familiar strategy game in a magnetic, book-style set.
Reversi: two-player tile-flipping strategy
PlayBook'd Reversi opens into a board and stores its playing pieces inside the case. Choose it if you enjoy planning moves around a changing arrangement of tiles. The listing includes the board and playing pieces shown.
Mancala: counting and capture
PlayBook'd Mancala is a two-player counting-and-capture game. Its fold-open board closes like a book with the stones stored inside. It is an option for a relaxed match at home or on a trip.
Sling Puck: quick, hands-on competition
PlayBook'd Sling Puck uses elastic bands to launch pucks through a center gate. Two players compete to clear their side. The folding case has built-in piece storage, making this a different choice from turn-based strategy games.
Shut the Box: dice and numbers
PlayBook'd Shut the Box challenges you to roll dice and flip down number tiles. It can be played solo or as friendly competition. The product listing gives an overall size of 16.4 × 23 × 3 cm and a product weight of 230 g.
Chess: magnetic construction and book-style storage
PlayBook'd Chess combines a familiar strategy game with magnetic construction and a case that closes for storage. Its listed overall size is 16.6 × 25 × 4.8 cm, with a product weight of 730 g. Compare these figures with your available bag space before choosing it for travel.
What should I check before ordering?
- Storage: Look at how the board folds and where the playing pieces fit.
- Size and weight: Check the individual listing. Overall dimensions are not necessarily closed dimensions; where a listing specifies a closed size or model estimate, keep that distinction in mind.
- What is included: Use the product's included-items list when comparing sets. Styling props and separately sold expansions are not automatically included.
- Finish: These are 3D-printed physical products. The PLA listings explain that layer lines and small surface variations are normal.
Are these physical games or downloadable files?
The games linked in this guide are physical products sold by BoxyLoot. You do not need a 3D printer to buy these sets.
